That is one huge pistol, I thought it was some sawed off shotgun... but then there was still pump grip or cartridge release. XDD It's the one that shoots those different elemental shells, right? XD

Hmmm, I like both version you have for the drawing, although the gray scale seemst o give off more this "realism" ... yet the drawing is like.. exactly the same. And these were colored separately... right? (Or was it just monochromed with filters?)

I just love that snear he has though... very predictable expression from him and it looks even better when I see him.

Yeah, it can use the elemental shells. Normally it just uses magic shots taken straight from the shooter's natural mana supply (which makes it so you don't have to reload 8Da). (Should also be noted that I am by no means gun-savvy and totally make up shit with real guns as partial reference. LOL)

The grayscale was done first. Once the grayscale version was done, I made a new layer and put the flat colors down, then made a third layer for some additional shading (the grayscale didn't come through as well on some of the darker colors). No filters. :>

I kind of like the grayscale version better because of that honestly. 8D; I don't know how coloring messed with it, but his expression comes off better in the grayscale.

That sneer is practically his signature. It feels weird whenever I don't draw him with that expression. XD! (Although he obviously can't have it ALL the time but... I do have some trouble drawing him looking anything other than cocky and/or pissed off. LOL)

More or less. In that particular universe, every living thing has mana in it... just some have far more than others. |D; You still need to learn spells in order to be able to cast them, but basically everyone has some capability of learning magic (and if you deplete your natural mana, well, you die). Normal firearms and ammunition do exist, as well as weapons that only use mana as a power source; then there's weapons like Trion's, Mana-Hybrids, that can use either normal ammunition or mana, depending on the user's preference. They don't take much magic at all to operate, but in case someone's natural supply is too low, they can resort to "old-fashioned" bullets. |>

Hmm, maybe! I hadn't thought about trying that. 8D;

I've drawn him with a few different expressions before, like a (REAL) smile, and that deer-in-the-headlights confused look, worried, etc... but it feels weird drawing him because he rarely shows those types of expressions to begin with. XD (It's a little bit of an in-joke, but I kind of had Lucas sum it up nicely in a mini-RP we had going while we were coming up with ideas; "If you can actually TELL Trion is nervous/worried, you better be TEN TIMES more nervous/worried.")

In the beginning a person probably had to control and manipulate their magic in a certain way, but the way the weapons are made now, it's more of a natural reaction; if you have mana in you, all it takes is holding the gun and pulling the trigger and it'll fire. Taking it a step further, they can be programmed to only react to certain people's mana signatures (which is basically magic DNA). Lucas' Mana Channeler weapon is programmed in such a way, so he's the only one who's able to fire the hidden rifle on it. And yeah, any kind of weapon can be dangerous; especially the mechanical kinds that can malfunction! XD

A lot of times he acts calmer and more on top of things than he actually is; he was taught growing up that showing nervousness, doubt, worry... basically anything other than confidence was a sign of weakness. He's really prideful, so what Lucas was saying is if he's willing to let his pride go enough to actually show that "weakness", whatever Trion's nervous/worried/etc about is a BIG deal.

Well the thing about mechanical ones is that it won't fire unless loaded or the safety is released. This one just seems to fire even if it's empty. XDDD Well, I guess you can do that "Mana DNA" thing. XD
